Description: Miscellaneous records of the department chair, mostly dating from the 1970s, documenting committee activities, curriculum and program development, funding, and staffing. The chair's correspondence consists mainly of intra-department letters to and from faculty concerning academic and administrative changes. Contains minutes and background materials for the departmental, executive, and safety committees. The collection also includes correspondence, proposals, and reports concerning the development of a Ph.D. degree in chemistry. The collection contains little information on the creation of the department in 1956. Finding aid available in the Archives.
